25N/2024: HOMENAJE A LAS HERMANAS MIRABAL

El 25 de noviembre de 1960, el dictador dominicano por más de treinta años Rafael Trujillo, ordenó el asesinato de tres de las cuatro hermanas Mirabal, apodadas «Las Mariposas», por sus actividades en el Movimiento Revolucionario 14 de Junio, que se oponía a la dictadura.
Este acto despertó la conciencia popular, lo que culminó con la muerte del propio dictador seis meses después.
La asamblea general de naciones unidas eligió el día de sus asesinatos como Día Internacional para la Eliminación de la Violencia contra la Mujer, siendo desde entonces conmemorado como un día simbólico.
